Benefits of Jiu-jitsu for Kids

Self Defense

In the case of teaching children, it prioritizes control and positional dominance and helps children to face blows and other aggressions by gaining positions that allow them to control the aggressors until an adult can help.

This makes Brazilian jiu jitsu a very interesting self defense option for children that allows them to defend themselves against aggressions without causing injuries that can lead to heavy blows and knockdowns.

Discipline

Discipline, self-control, body-space control are instilled in them, which refers to learning to respect their space and that of others, that everything has its place and everything has an order.

They develop capacities for interaction with other people. They learn to ask permission to go in and out.

Perhaps the most important thing is self-confidence.

Exercise

Another benefit for children who train Jiu Jitsu is that it is often overlooked is the physical aspect of exercise. From warming up to rolling Jiu Jitsu is sure to break a sweat. “The percentage of children ages 6 to 11 in the United States who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to almost 18% in 2012. Similarly, the percentage of adolescents ages 12 to 19 who were obese increased from 5% to almost 21% in the same period. «(CDC)

Games

Our teachings are through games that help them develop good balance, motor skills, body strength, speed, and other while learning the techniques of jiu-jitsu self defense and sports jiu-jitsu.

Through these games the children have fun and do not realize that they are learning self defense.
